Water Line & Sewer Repair

Wooley repairs and replaces water service lines and sewer laterals across greater Columbus — from spot fixes on a cracked joint to full line replacement when a pipe has collapsed. If you have low water pressure, a wet spot in the yard, sewage backing up, or a camera scope showing damage, this is the service. We diagnose the failure, confirm depth and material, pull the permit, and give you a written estimate before any digging or lining begins.

Repairs run the full range — from open-cut excavation when a pipe is severely deteriorated, to no-dig methods like CIPP pipe lining or pipe bursting when the line is intact enough to rehabilitate in place. Every quote includes camera confirmation, permit pull, and site cleanup so you know the total cost before we start.

CIPP Pipe Lining

CIPP stands for cured-in-place pipe. It is the highest-precision trenchless rehabilitation method we offer: a flexible felt or fibreglass liner impregnated with thermoset epoxy or styrene resin is inverted through the existing pipe, inflated against the host pipe wall, and cured — ambient, steam, or UV — to form a new jointless pipe-within-a-pipe. The result is NSF-61 compliant, ASTM F1216 governed, and manufacturer-rated for a 50-year design life.

CIPP is the ideal method for aged-but-intact clay tile and cast iron laterals — exactly the housing stock that dominates Bexley, Uptown Westerville, and older Columbus neighborhoods. If your sewer scope shows root intrusion through joints, minor longitudinal cracks, or interior corrosion pitting, CIPP is almost always the right call.

Pipe Bursting

Pipe bursting is the trenchless replacement method. A hydraulic or pneumatic bursting head is pulled through the failed pipe by cable winch, fracturing the old pipe outward into the surrounding soil while pulling a new HDPE pipe into position behind it. Governed by ASTM F1962, bursting is the required method for Orangeburg, fully collapsed clay, or any lateral needing upsizing — situations where lining is not an option.

Residential bursting typically completes in a single day with two small access pits (one at the cleanout, one at the building side) — no open trench along the pipe run. Wooley fuses the HDPE pipe on-site with an in-house fusion welder rather than sub-contracting, which controls fusion quality and keeps the job on schedule.

Hydro Jetting & Drain Cleaning

Hydro jetting uses a high-pressure water jet — 4,000+ PSI at 18+ gallons per minute — through a specialised nozzle to scour the pipe interior, removing roots, grease, scale, and debris. Jetting is the gold-standard pipe-cleaning method because it cleans the full pipe circumference, whereas a snake only clears a narrow channel. It is the right tool for restaurant grease blockages, tree-root intrusion that has not yet fractured the pipe wall, and mineral scale on cast iron.

Wooley offers scheduled maintenance contracts for restaurants, apartment complexes, and commercial property managers — with calendar reminders so compliance doesn't fall through the cracks. Pre- and post-service camera verification is included on every job.

Sewer Camera Inspection

A sewer camera inspection is a waterproof push camera or crawler camera transmitted live to a monitor and recorded, producing a time-stamped video file of the pipe interior with footage distance markers and locate-ping capability. Wooley uses RIDGID SeeSnake push cameras for residential laterals and Envirosight crawler cameras for larger commercial and municipal lines. Every inspection is delivered to the customer as a permanent video record.

Typical use cases: pre-purchase home inspection due diligence, pre-sale seller disclosure preparation, post-backup incident diagnosis, insurance claim documentation, and recurring-blockage triage. In Bexley and parts of Columbus, a documented scope is expected as part of pre-sale inspection. Review our sewer camera inspection process and pricing.

Excavation Services

Excavation is the open-cut method for installing, replacing, and repairing sewer and water lines when trenchless lining or pipe bursting is not the right call. Wooley has been digging across the Columbus, Ohio metro since 1978 — running our own owned fleet of excavators, mini-ex, and dump trucks, pulling permits with Columbus Public Health, Franklin County, and the surrounding municipalities, and restoring every surface we open.

At Wooley, excavation is roughly one-third of what we do. The other two-thirds — CIPP pipe lining and pipe bursting — are the reasons most people find us. But when a pipe is fully collapsed, severed by a contractor's auger, missing entirely (new construction, ADUs, additions), or hidden behind a service that is itself failing, the trenchless tools cannot work and the trench is the right tool. We dig when digging is the right answer, and we say so when it isn't.
